Milk Carton Crafts
Drinking milk is a great way to 'Maintain Your Cool', but did you ever wonder what to do with the empty milk cartons? A recycling program is currently under development in British Columbia. In the mean time, welcome to Moo-velous milk Carton Crafts by BC Dairy Foundation's Elementary School Milk Program. Fun Activities
Being part of the Elementary School Milk Program has many benefits, including an assortment of moo-velous ideas to inspire you and your students to create a fun school environment. To encourage students to participate in the Elementary School Milk Program try the following ideas:

Cool Cow Incentive Display
Set up a display with the incentives near the milk sales area. Make sure the display is highly visible, but in a secured area so that students can see the incentive items they may receive if the school offers milk on a regular basis at school.

Spot the Cow Spots
Milk Coordinators or milk Moo-nitors draw black cow spots on the bottom of selected milk cartons. The student who drinks milk from one of the marked containers receives a cool cow incentive.

Healthy Choice Days
If students choose a healthy item at lunch, from a "menu" that includes milk, they receive an entry form. Recipients of the cool cow incentives are drawn after lunch.

Moo-off
Students are entered in a Moo-ing contest and asked to Moo like a cow. The judges pick the top Moo-ers to receive a cool cow incentive.

Find the Missing Moo
Clues are given out every morning to guide students to the missing cow (which can be drawn by the milk program coordinator, milk Moo-nitors or a volunteer). The student who finds the missing cow wins and is awarded a cool cow incentive.

Farmin' Fridays or Black 'n' White Day
Students and staff come to school dressed in their best farm clothes, as a cow, or in black and white. Best dressed or all who come dressed are entered into a draw for a cool cow incentive.

Milky Way Obstacle Race
Design an obstacle course in the gym based on cow and milk themes (i.e. milk an imaginary cow using rubber gloves and a pail, or balance an empty milk carton on a spatula and run, etc.) The team who wins the race receives cool cow incentives.

Leaky Milk Carton
Have students stand in a line. At the front of the line is an empty bucket and at the back of the line is a bucket full of water. On the word "go" the student in the back scoops out the water with a milk carton full of holes and passes it down the line to the front student who dumps the remaining water in the empty bucket. There can be two ways to win: the team who transports all the water from the back bucket to the front bucket first, or the team who has the highest level of water in front bucket. This activity is best done outside as it can get a little moo-sey!

Milk Moo-Stache Contest
Have each student drink from a glass of milk or have students make moustaches from cotton, paper, etc. Whoever has the coolest, biggest, messiest, Moo-stache wins a prize!

Moo-Bubbles
Simply put a straw in a glass of milk, blow into the glass and form bubbles. See who has the longest lasting milk bubbles. The last to pop is the winner.
