Beyond Information and Towards Behaviour Change
Effective nutrition education helps people learn how to eat well. In this workshop you will learn how to use an educational model to move learners beyond information and towards behaviour change, whether this is through counselling, group classes or educational materials. You will have an opportunity to assess existing materials and learn how to improve these materials. (1.5 - 2 hours).

School Nurses
Learn how to teach nutrition so that it makes a difference! In this workshop you will be introduced to a series of age-appropriate nutrition education outcomes and activities that help achieve these outcomes. You will have a chance to learn about strategies and resources to use with elementary school students. Participants will receive a kit of nutrition education activities and resources. No charge.

Workshop is 1.5 - 3 hours - 3 hours is recommended.

FoodTrack and Canada's Food Guide: What's New?
FoodTrack is the acclaimed series of nutrition education resources that helps students check their food choices to see if they are on track for food group balance, fiber, caffeine and fat. Learn what's new in Canada's Food Guide and how the FoodTrack series has been revised and updated. Find out how you can teach using these resources, and whether your own diet is on track with the new food guide. A folder of materials is included with the workshop. (2 hours).

Workshop: "Eat Together"

How can BC promote and support healthy eating among families and other social groups? Research shows that when families eat together, children and youth benefit in many ways. However, eating together can benefit members of other social groups too. Let's look at how we can work together to move this agenda forward in BC. (1-1.5 hours)
