MORE SCHOOLS RECEIVE FRUIT, VEGGIES AND FRIDGES
VANCOUVER - The School Fruit and Vegetable Snack Program will expand to include a total of 50 schools, Minister of State for ActNow BC Gordon Hogg announced today. Hogg also announced that the Fridges in Schools
Program has reached a milestone, with over 70 fridges delivered to date. For more information on the Fridges in Schools Program click here.

Fridges In Schools Program
In partnership with the BC Dairy Foundation and BC Agriculture in the Classroom, the Fridges in
Schools Program was launched in August 2006. The program enables the Elementary School Milk
Program and the BC School Fruit and Vegetable Snack Program to purchase fridges for schools in
B.C. that currently do not have access to refrigeration. To date, over 70 fridges have been delivered to schools registered in the Elementary School Milk program throughout British Columbia.

The Elementary School Milk Program encourages school-aged children to develop a lifelong habit of
drinking milk. All B.C. elementary schools are eligible to participate if they offer white and/or chocolate milk at least three times per week at school. Parents pay for the milk that is delivered to their
child at school.

The BC Dairy Foundation is committed to ensuring the 50 schools selected to participate in the School
Fruit and Vegetable Snack Program in January 2007, receive a new fridge if one is required.
